ARROW’s Andrew Kreisberg Teases Slade Wilson, Return Of Amanda Waller, And More For Season 2

Speaking with TV Line for the site’s “Winter TV Spoiler-palooza” look at returning television shows, Arrow showrunner Andrew Kreisberg teases the rest of the series’ second season. “We’re coming back [from the holidays] with a bang,” he says. The mid-season premiere kicks off with The Arrow searching for the man in the skull mask (aka Brother Blood). Meanwhile, “We’ll be seeing Slade [Wilson] and his machinations to bring about Oliver’s downfall.” Kreisberg then hints at Wilson’s goal for the rest of the season. “Slade has a very specific goal in the back half of the season, and I think people will be surprised to discover both what it is and what it means to Oliver.” In the mid-season finale, Slade was revealed to be supplying Brother Blood with the Mirakuru serum, in hopes of creating a super-human army. However, Arrow put a kink into those plans in the stunning episode.
Kreisberg also confirms that Amanda Waller will return in the second-half of the season, and there will be another episode focusing on Diggle. He then goes on to discuss Laurel’s significant role in the next few episodes. “These next four episodes are a big Laurel chapter. We’ll see her drug use come back to bite her, and she hits rock bottom. Katie Cassidy is delivering the most amazing performances.” In the plot synopsis for Episode 11, it was revealed that Laurel’s drug use will be exposed. Additionally, one or more of these episodes will include pre-island flashbacks for Laurel.
Finally, Kreisberg talks about the infamous “Olicity” pairing of Oliver and Felicity, and managing their attraction. “We just do what we feel is right, and up until this point we’ve been lucky that most of the audience has agreed with our choices…. Our lead has chemistry with multiple actresses. It’s nothing we’re going to be upset about.” Arrow returns to The CW on January 15th.
