BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN: Josh Holloway Comments On Aquaman Rumors

One of the many casting rumors surrounding Batman vs. Superman said that Josh Holloway was up for a role. Since the Lost star has been a fan favorite to play Aquaman for some time, many have speculated that he was in line to play the King of Atlantis. The character is also rumored to make a cameo at the end of the Man of Steel sequel alongside other DC superheroes, setting up a Justice League movie. Jason Momoa has also been linked to the part.

Now, Holloway has weighed in on these rumors. Speaking with IGN, the actor says that he hasn’t heard anything official, but would love to be involved with the project. However, due to the success of his new TV series Intelligence, he may be unable to sign a multi-picture contract. “It hasn’t been brought to my attention by my people, so maybe they’re just floating it softly around, but that would be cool! Sure, I think I’m available at the moment as we just wrapped up. I’m an actor, I like different roles. Batman movies are awesome, Marvel movies are awesome. But we’ll see, I’m on a series right now. I think they usually want to sign you up for several movies and I don’t know if you can do that when you’re committed to a series…” Do you think Holloway is a good choice to play Aquaman?

Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters May 6th, 2016. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
