BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN’s Wonder Woman Will Have Armored Costume – And No, She Won’t Be Kryptonian

A couple of reports surrounding the DC Cinematic Universe’s take on Wonder Woman – who will make her theatrical debut in Batman vs. Superman, played by Gal Gadot – have found their way online. Firstly, let’s get one “rumor” out of the way. Various websites have taken Batman-on-Film’s speculation about a revised origin for Diana (which you can find by clicking HERE) and posted it as if it was being stated as fact. Regardless, Badass Digest has heard from multiple sources that there are no plans to make Wonder Woman a Kryptonian in the DCCU. No surprise, as mere guessing was the basis of the “rumor”.

Meanwhile, those who are not a fan of the classic Wonder Woman suit (like myself) will like this news. According to Latino-Review’s @elmayimbe, Gal Gadot’s costume in Batman vs. Superman will be very different from Lynda Carter’s iconic look. “Gal Gadot’s WONDER WOMAN outfit will consist of ARMOR. Not the Lynda Carter itty bitty outfit. I hear it looks dope. ” While there is much hype over the expected first look at Ben Affleck’s Batman within the next few weeks, hopefully we’ll get a shot of Wonder Woman and/or Superman (who will also be getting a tweaked costume) around the same time.

Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters July 17th, 2015. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne, with Jason Momoa in talks to join. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
