GOTHAM Pilot Gets A Director And Executive Producer In Danny Cannon

We finally have an update on Fox’s upcoming Gotham pilot, which focuses on a younger Detective James Gordon working within the Gotham City PD. According to Deadline, Danny Cannon – known for helming pilots for CSI and Nikita as well as Sylvester Stallone’s Judge Dredd – has been hired to direct and executive produce this pilot. Rome‘s Bruno Heller is writing and executive producing. The pilot is expected to be ordered to series, as it is a priority for the network. While Batman himself will not appear, a ten-year-old Bruce Wayne is reportedly a series regular. In addition, Gotham will explore the origin stories of not only Gordon, but some of the villains that made the city famous. It’ll be interesting to see just how these villains are portrayed without Batman in the picture. Gotham will likely premiere next fall on Fox.
