NBC Officially Orders CONSTANTINE Pilot From David S. Goyer And Daniel Cerone

After today’s news concerning Fox’s Gotham television series, we now have an update on the planned Constantine show. According to Deadline, NBC has officially greenlit a pilot for a potential drama series starring John Constantine. It is being written/executive produced by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer. The pilot “centers on John Constantine, an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond.” If all goes according to plan, Constantine – one of a slew of DC television shows in development – could premiere as soon as next fall.
John Constantine previously starred in the 2005 film Constantine, where he was played by Keanu Reeves. He will also be featured in Guillermo del Toro’s planned Justice League Dark movie. Whether or not that will be affected by the Constantine TV series – del Toro says that the two can co-exist – remains to be seen. With TCA going on this week, hopefully we will hear more news regarding DC on television soon.
