Rumor: Josh Holloway In Consideration For Role In BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

Another day, another Batman vs. Superman casting rumor. The latest actor whose name has been linked to the Man of Steel follow-up is Josh Holloway. According to Comic Book Movie, the Lost and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol actor is being “strongly considered” for an unspecified role. While the character he may be up for is unknown, CBM speculates that it could be that of Aquaman, since the actor has been a fan-favorite choice for the role. While the King of Atlantis is an obvious choice to add to the growing DC Cinematic Universe, I’d be surprised if that character appears in Batman vs. Superman. Other characters suggested by fans include Metallo, Steve Trevor, and Hal Jordan, none of which are confirmed to appear.
Of course, there’s the question of whether or not Holloway will be in the movie at all. The actor’s new television series, Intelligence, recently had the most-watched premiere of the season, bringing in 16.6M viewers. Holloway will likely spend the next several months working on this show, and with Batman vs. Superman starting production in February, some sort of scheduling conflict is likely. However, if this rumor is true, it shouldn’t be that surprising, as Holloway has been mentioned for a slew of superhero roles. We’ll have to wait and see how this one pans out, so take the above info with a grain of salt until we receive official word.
Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters July 17th, 2015. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
