Will Jason Momoa Play Aquaman In A BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Cameo Appearance?

This week is already big in terms of DC Entertainment news. Yesterday, it was reported that both Batman vs. Superman and the long-awaited Justice League movie will be filmed back-to-back – or at least move right into the latter after BvS wraps up – in 2014. The Man of Steel follow-up may feature cameos from a number of Justice League members, which, along with a cliffhanger ending, will lead right into the team’s first film. Today, we have another rumor surrounding one of these cameos.

While Jason Momoa recently denied involvement with Batman vs. Superman, a “very, very trusted source” has told Badass Digest that the character he was/is up for is none other than Aquaman. The site says that the King of Atlantis’ role will basically be a cameo which will set up the next movie. So, it’s certainly possible that Momoa’s denial is just a cover-up for this cameo appearance.

As for who will be playing the other Justice League characters, three are confirmed to star in Batman vs. Superman. Henry Cavill is reprising his role as Superman, while Ben Affleck is playing Batman and Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman. Dwayne Johnson, who recently teased his teaming up with DC on a 2014 project, will reportedly be involved with the Justice League movie (as Green Lantern?). Other characters such as The Flash, Martian Manhunter, and Nightwing have been rumored to appear in Batman vs. Superman.

Obviously, this is all rumor for now. So, take it with a pinch of salt until we receive official news. However, if Batman vs. Superman and Justice League will be filming back-to-back or at least one immediately after the other, we should find out soon as the former begins shooting in a few weeks. Batman vs. Superman is set for a July 17th, 2015 debut, while Justice League is rumored for a 2016/2017 release.
