Fox’s GOTHAM Adds STRAW DOGS Actor Drew Powell In Villainous Recurring Role

We have some more casting news for Fox’s Gotham. According to Deadline, Straw Dogs actor Drew Powell – who previously guest starred on True Blood, Bones, and NCIS – has landed a recurring role in the planned Batman prequel series. He will play a character named Butch Gilzean, who is described as “the deceptively clever and ambitious second-in-command to sadistic gangster boss Fish Mooney.” This is apparently a character created specifically for the series (like Mooney), and does not come from the comics. Gotham will begin filming sometime this month, so stay tuned for more news as we have it.
Gotham also stars Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, and Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney. It is expected to premiere on Fox next fall.
