Warner Bros. And DC Entertainment Unveil Plans And Logo For Batman’s 75th Anniversary
2014 marks the 75th anniversary of unarguably one of the greatest fictional characters of all time, Batman. The Dark Knight made his debut in Detective Comics #27 back in 1939, and has since become an icon frequently seen on film, television, video games, and comics. Today, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have announced their plans for celebrating this monumental achievement. Jim Gordon Spotlights Another GOTHAM Character Portrait
So far, we’ve seen Gotham character portraits for Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee), and Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor). Today’s promo image finally puts the spotlight on the series’ protagonist, James Gordon (Ben McKenzie). In Gotham, Gordon is a newly appointed detective in the Gotham PD, and hopes to restore the city. In the pilot, he teams with Bullock to investigate the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne. So far, we’ve seen Gotham character images for Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), and Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee). Now, Fox has released the fourth portrait. This one features Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin, played by Robin Lord Taylor. In Gotham, Cobblepot is a criminal who works for Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith). Arrow‘s Manu Bennett was present at Megacon in Orlando, Florida, where the Slade Wilson actor talked in detail about playing the character. The most interesting question asked Bennett if there was a possibility of Slade teaming up with Malcolm Merlyn, should he survive his showdown with Oliver Queen later this season. Bennett affirmed that he does not know how the season will end, as the finale has yet to be written. First Look At Alfred Pennyworth In Latest GOTHAM Character Portrait
After releasing Gotham character images for Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) and Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), Fox has now unveiled a promotional portrait for Alfred Pennyworth, who is played by Sean Pertwee. In the Batman prequel pilot, Alfred is an ex-Marine who has served as the butler for the Wayne family, and is fiercely protective of young Bruce (David Mazouz) following his parents’ tragic deaths. Earlier this week, it was reported that Batman vs. Superman will film scenes in Yorkville, Illinois in mid-May, after a number of delays. However, Chicago Tribune has now updated its original article with a different start date for Illinois. The Man of Steel sequel will now shoot in Yorkville this fall. This makes sense, as production is expected to last several months in Detroit. The Illinois scenes will include the recently rebuilt Kent farm house.
