BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Camera Tests Underway In Detroit

We have another production update for Batman vs. Superman, courtesy of actress Diane Lane. Recently, a number of actors from the Man of Steel sequel had reportedly been in Detroit, as well as crew members including cinematographer Larry Fong. Now, Lane – who reprises her role as Martha Kent in the superhero epic – reveals why.

While production hasn’t officially started yet, the Oscar nominee tells The Hollywood Reporter that camera tests are underway in Detroit, and she just returned from the city. Lane says that she filmed a few shots of her “feeling” the new Superman costume, and jokingly regrets not doing the same for Batman.

Presently, online speculation suggests that Batman vs. Superman will officially commence filming on May 19th, just under a month from now. This will likely disappoint fans who were expecting an April start date, especially since it’s expected to be accompanied by a first look at the new Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman costumes. However, we at least know now why a slew of actors and crew members from the film are/were in Detroit. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters May 6th, 2016. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Holly Hunter, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
