MAN OF STEEL’s Henry Cavill Wins “Best Hero” At 2014 MTV Movie Awards

The 2014 MTV Movie Awards took place last night, and Man of Steel took home the one prize it was nominated for. Henry Cavill, who starred as Superman in Zack Snyder’s reboot, won the “Best Hero” award, beating out Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man 3), Chris Hemsworth (Thor: The Dark World), Martin Freeman (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug), and Channing Tatum (White House Down). You can check out a list of the full categories and nominations by clicking here.

Cavill isn’t the first DC actor to win this award. In 2006, when the “Best Hero” performance was first introduced, Christian Bale won for his amazing performance as the Dark Knight in Batman Begins. The Oscar winner was also nominated for the prize last year for The Dark Knight Rises, alongside co-star Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle). However, The Hobbit‘s Martin Freeman won then.

Congrats to Cavill on winning this year, as his performance as Superman was flawless. Hopefully, many more awards will be in his future.
