Russell Crowe Not Expecting To Return As Jor-El In BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN

One of the highlights of Man of Steel was Jor-El, who was excellently portrayed by Russell Crowe. Naturally, many have been wondering if he will reprise the role in the sequel, Batman vs. Superman. Now, speaking with Yahoo! while promoting Noah, the Oscar winning actor confirmed that he will not return as Jor-El in the Man of Steel follow-up. “I don’t think they’re going to use me again. I think they’re jumping onto a different stream. You know, they’re going with the different superhero worlds colliding [this time].” It is understandable why Jor-El wouldn’t be brought back in the superhero crossover, but perhaps he (or, more specifically, his consciousness) can return in the next solo Superman movie? Only time will tell.

Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters May 6th, 2016. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
