BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Tidbits: Purpose Behind Giant Superman Statue, New Details On Batmobile, [REDACTED] Cameo Described

Recently, an unfinished giant statue of Superman was spotted on the set of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. This has led to much speculation concerning why it is in the movie, from the statue being built in memory of his saving Earth in Man of Steel or even the possibility of his “dying” at the end of the movie. Now, it looks like it’s the former. According to Batman-News, the Superman statue was built in honor of the character’s victory over Zod and his army, and that the statue is unveiled in a “big” press conference scene. The site also reveals that Dawn of Justice takes place two years after Man of Steel, and that, “Gotham and Metropolis news trucks and helicopters were on the scene to cover the Mayor’s speech and the statue unveiling. Elementary school kids wore “Superman Survivors” shirts and helped pull a sheet off the statue for the big reveal. They also released real doves to celebrate statue unveiling.” Additionally, the statue is incomplete, but will be finished with CGI in post-production.

Batman-News also has new details on the new Batmobile. According to the site, the vehicle’s doors “open up like wings”. However, it’s unknown if it will actually turn into the Batwing. Also, Latino-Review’s @ElMayimbe has heard a rumor claiming that the Batmobile will be present at Comic-Con next month. Personally, I would love to see it alongside past movie versions of the vehicle, which would work well within the Batman 75 celebrations. Stay tuned for more on this as we have it.

And now, we save the best news bit for last. It’s obvious that Batman v. Superman will be a prequel to the Justice League movie, and will feature multiple other heroes in introductory scenes. Wonder Woman will have a supporting role, with Aquaman and Cyborg set to cameo. Now, we have a scene description hinting at The Flash, thanks to The Daily Superhero. Previously, it was reported that convenience stores were being scouted for a robbery scene, which will use security camera footage. The scene will feature a “flash of wind” that will be seen in the security footage, and is, of course, intended to be a Flash tease. While this hasn’t been confirmed officially, don’t be surprised if it ends up being true. The Flash has been rumored to be making a cameo in Batman v. Superman for some time, setting up a bigger role in 2017’s Justice League. The character is also reportedly co-headlining a team-up film with Green Lantern, set for a Christmas debut that year. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
