UFC Fighter Tyron Woodley Keen On Joining BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

Following last night’s UFC 174, fighter Tyron Woodley plans to expand his acting range. After roles in Olympus Has Fallen and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the mixed martial artist has revealed that he is looking to join a couple of big projects. Speaking with the Great MMA Debate podcast (via Fox Sports), Woodley acknowledges that he has had calls about Warner Bros.’ Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and he intends to join the DC film given the timeframe allows it. He is also pursuing a part in Marvel’s July 17th, 2015 tentpole, Ant-Man“I’ve got a Marvel and a DC project I should be able to jump on and continue my career there as well. Man of Steel 2 (title is now ‘Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice), I’ve got some calls about doing that so I would love to take advantage of that if the timeframe works out. There’s another movie called Ant-Man that’s coming out and I might be able to get some work on that as well. I’d like to do both and I think I’ll be able to.”

Of course, it’s unknown which role in Dawn of Justice Woodley could play. One option would be as yet another cameo-ing Justice League member, but it would make more sense if they got bigger names for any remaining superhero roles. Perhaps Woodley will simply be a stuntman and/or a minor character. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters May 6th, 2016. A follow-up to Man of Steel, the second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Holly Hunter, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
