DC Announces Its Animated Movie Slate For 2015

At last night’s Comic-Con panel for the premiere of DC’s next animated film, Batman: Assault on Arkham, the company confirmed its lineup for 2015. As previously confirmed, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis will be released early in the year. A sequel to Justice League: War, this film adapts the excellent “Throne of Atlantis” story arc by Geoff Johns.

Next, we have yet another Batman title, Batman vs. Robin. Set to be released Summer 2015, this one features the Court of Owls from Scott Snyder’s terrific New 52 run. It’s unknown whether or not the movie will be based on the arc, but if anything, expect a loose adaptation. Additionally, it’s safe to assume that this will be the other 2015 film set in the War universe. DC previously said that the plan was to release two movies within the same universe and one standalone.

It appears that 2015’s standalone feature will be Justice League: Gods and Monsters. This one is an original story written by DCAU mastermind Bruce Timm, who will also direct. The title will be released mid/late 2015, so expect a San Diego Comic-Con premiere around this time next year.

Details on voice casts, etc. for Batman vs. Robin and Justice League: Gods and Monsters are not confirmed yet. However, as always, stay tuned for more news as we have it.
