DC TV News Bits: New Banner For THE FLASH, ARROW Adds Manhunter, Joelle Carter To Guest Star On CONSTANTINE

The latest news round-up for DC’s television shows kicks off with a new promotional banner for perhaps the most anticipated new series, The Flash, released by The CW. This latest piece for the Arrow spin-off sees the Fastest Man Alive as he’s about to take on the Weather Wizard, the villain of the pilot. The Flash premieres on The CW on October 7th.

Speaking of Arrow, that series had added yet another key DC Comics character. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Medium‘s David Cubitt has been cast as Mark Shaw, aka Manhunter. He will serve as a “meaty” guest starring role, with this version of the character being “an A.R.G.U.S. operative in Corto Maltese who crosses paths with Diggle.” In the comics, Shaw has also had ties to the Suicide Squad. Additionally, he is one of many characters to take on the Manhunter persona. Kate Spencer is one of the most popular, but Arrow‘s version was killed off near the end of its second season. Arrow returns to The CW on October 8th.

Finally, we have some casting news for NBC’s Constantine. Justified actress Joelle Carter has revealed that she will guest star on the DC adaptation via her Twitter. TV Line later revealed that she is playing Jasmine Fell, “a beautiful but damaged ex-model and back-up singer who is married to a rock star.” Presumably, this is an original character created specifically for the series, rather than a pre-existing comic book figure. Constantine premieres October 24th on NBC.
