Lynda Carter Shares Her Thoughts On Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman Costume

While there was plenty of mixed reception to the news that Gal Gadot will play Diana Prince in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter previously voiced her support for the casting, as well as the fact that the iconic character is finally making her big screen debut. And now, the actress most people associate with Wonder Woman has weighed in on Gadot’s costume, which is noticeably different from the iconic suit.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Carter was inevitably asked about her thoughts on Wonder Woman’s costume for Dawn of Justice. While she would have liked to see more color in the image released during San Diego Comic-Con, she admits that she needs to see more before forming a proper opinion. Carter then shares her optimism for the character finally being given a proper depiction and praises the Batman v Superman crew for deciding to include her. “Well, I was missing the red, white and blue, I have to say. … I don’t know. I haven’t seen it yet, so I really can’t comment. Maybe there’s a lot more color in it than what we saw in the picture. It’s almost impossible to play a superhero anyway. You can’t. You just have to play a character that happens to do these amazing things. That’s the only way you can do it. And the costumes all take care of themselves, but it was a little more – I’ll have to wait and see. I hate to comment on something that I haven’t seen and I’m very supportive of Gal Gadot. I’m very supportive of them doing Wonder Woman, putting her in any capacity. I think she needs to be out there. … It’s high time somebody took a chance and did it and so I’m really happy about that.” For more of Carter’s interview with Access Hollywood, click the link above.
