Breaking: Warner Bros. Announces Its DC Slate Through 2020; Ezra Miller To Play THE FLASH In Solo Film

At the Time Warner Investor Conference today, Warner Bros. dropped a major bombshell. After slating several release dates for DC movies a couple months ago, the studio has now revealed what exactly these titles are.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice kicks off the new era of DC Entertainment in March 2016, but following it later that year will be Suicide Squad. It was recently reported that David Ayer was in talks to direct, and now, Warner Bros. confirms that the Fury helmer is on board. Four A-list actors are said to be in negotiations to star in the “gritty” supervillain team-up movie.

Moving on to 2017, we will see the release of both Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot, and Justice League Part One. Yes, the superhero ensemble is being split into two parts, with the second to bow in 2019. Zack Snyder is on board to direct both parts, with Part One featuring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Amy Adams (among others) reprising their roles from Batman v Superman.

Next, we have two more films for 2018. Jason Momoa is confirmed to star in a solo Aquaman film, while The Perks of Being a Wallflower actor Ezra Miller is set to play The Flash in the Scarlet Speedster’s first movie. The latter will focus on Barry Allen, who is being played by Grant Gustin in the CW series of the same name.

The other DC movie releasing in 2019 will be Shazam, which will star Dwayne Johnson as anti-hero Black Adam. Finally, the 2020 slate will consist of a Green Lantern reboot and, surprisingly, a solo film for Cyborg. The latter will star Ray Fisher, who plays Victor Stone in Batman v Superman and presumably Justice League. Warner Bros.’ press release, which you can check out here, confirms that new solo films for Superman and Batman are also being developed, in addition to this slate.

This is surely exciting news for comic book fans, cementing WB/DC’s determination to take over the big screen within the next few years. Stay tuned for even more news as we have it.
