Jena Malone IS A Part Of The BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Cast

A few months ago, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire actress Jena Malone was spotted on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Naturally, this led to speculation that she had some sort of role in the movie, but this was quickly debunked when it was said she was just visiting. That made sense, considering she previously worked with director Zack Snyder on Sucker Punch. However, recent rumors have linked Malone to the role of Carrie Kelly, who was the Robin of The Dark Knight Returns. This was fueled by a reporter on the Dawn of Justice set claiming that there was a female Robin in the movie. Now, we have some solid news.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Malone is indeed a part of the Batman v Superman cast in some capacity. However, the site can’t confirm whether she’s playing Robin or another character. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Carrie Kelly incorporated in some capacity, though. The movie has some clear Dark Knight Returns influence, from an older Batman to his donning an armored suit – which looks identical to the comic version – in order to fight Superman. Nightwing is another (former) Batman sidekick who is rumored to be appearing in Dawn of Justice, but since he will star in TNT’s potential series Titans, it’s unknown if that would affect any big screen plans for him.

It’s also unknown whether Malone’s role is minor or even a mere cameo. Hopefully, we’ll receive some clarification soon.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters March 25th, 2016. A follow-up to Man of Steel, the second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Holly Hunter, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer.
