CONSTANTINE Will End Season With Thirteenth Episode; Season 2 Renewal Still Possible

While DC Entertainment’s first two new television shows of the year, Gotham and The Flash, were both picked up for a full 20-something episode season, Constantine‘s debut season will not contain that many episodes. According to Deadline, despite improvement in ratings over the past couple weeks, NBC has halted production on the DC/Vertigo adaptation, with its first (and only?) season ending at episode thirteen. The network initially ordered a thirteen episode season and had the option to order more. The series will remain in its controversial 10 PM slot for the remainder of its run.

However, Constantine has not been outright canceled. Deadline states that the series is still in contention for a second season renewal. The show was also recently aired on SyFy for a successful marathon. In the event that NBC does not renew Constantine for season two, perhaps it can move over to SyFy? Of course, that’s just speculation. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
