Margot Robbie Reportedly Set To Play Harley Quinn In SUICIDE SQUAD

Margot Robbie was one of the first actors to be linked to Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad, as the Wolf of Wall Street actress was reported to be in talks for an unspecified role. Will Smith and Tom Hardy are also negotiating to join the DC supervillain team-up, with Jesse Eisenberg in talks to reprise his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice role as Lex Luthor and Jared Leto circling the role of The Joker. The latter news substantiated past rumors that Harley Quinn would appear in the movie. And now, a new report suggests that that’s exactly the character Margot Robbie is playing.

According to Collider, Robbie is set to play Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. Given the character’s recent association with the Suicide Squad – she’s a member in both the New 52 and the Batman: Assault on Arkham animated movie, and she made a cameo in the “Suicide Squad” of Arrow – her addition to the team’s movie is not surprising at all. Harley was not in the original script, but director David Ayer’s rewrite looks to add the character, as well as Joker and Lex Luthor. Personally, I think that Robbie is a fantastic choice to bring Harley Quinn to life in her big screen debut, and with both this film and Warner Bros.’ Tarzan releasing Summer 2016, the actress is sure to become a bigger name within the coming years.

Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters August 5th, 2016.
