Stephen Amell Discusses the DC Cinematic Universe Announcements

By now, most people know that the upcoming DC Cinematic
Universe will be different from the CW-Universe.  Arrow
star, Stephen Amell shared his thoughts about this recently.
As reported by comicbook.com, Amell was a guest on AMC Movie Talk.  When asked about the announcement WB made
recently he was frustrated at the timing of the announcement.  In particular, how the cast and crew of The Flash might have been disrespected.  “I
thought that the way that Warner Bros. announced the slate of DC movies could
have been handled better.
Amell then spoke about series star, Grant Gustin’s portrayal
of Barry Allen/The Flash.  Amell felt
that with the Flash premiering to record-breaking numbers and Gustin receiving
so much praise for his portrayal that Warner should have afforded him a
“wider berth” than just two episodes.
Amell admitted that it was because he’s “protective of Grant.”
He explained that he feels producing
twenty-three episodes of superhero programming a season is “more difficult than producing a feature
film. And it’s 23 episodes again, and again, and again.
Amell did go on to say that he doesn’t feel that the films
and television have to be connected and that he would be okay with another
actor portraying Oliver Queen in films.
He also said that while there are currently no plans for him to make the
jump to the films that nothing has been ruled out.
Amell also said that he’s spoken with DC Chief Creative
Officer, Geoff Johns about plans for both film and television: “We had this conversation shortly after these
announcements were made, and I came away from the conversation feeling great.
Johns himself has recently referred to the live action
television and films as a “live-action Multiverse” and that we
shouldn’t rule out a crossover just yet.
We’ll just have to wait to see how it all plays out.

Film?”  Let us know, HERE
