David Goyer Updates on SANDMAN's Progress, CONSTANTINE's Future and More

David S Goyer, writer and producer for Constantine, The Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel is no stranger to DC properties at this point. Now, as
he prepares to help guide the upcoming Sandman
film he’s let some information slip to whet our appetites.
In a story on Deadline.com, they talked briefly with Goyer
about his production company: Phantom
Four Films
.  Goyer has picked independent
film veteran, Kevin Turin to run his production company.  Turin was a producer for films like; An American Crime and All is Lost. (imdb)
While Goyer’s been involved in several big-tent pole films
for Warner Brothers with his work with Nolan and Snyder, Goyer and Turin plan
to work on or fund smaller projects.  One
of the projects on their slate is Sandman.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to star, direct
and produce the film and Neil Gaiman is reportedly involved in production as
well.  Goyer describes the project with
guarded optimism: “I hesitate to
definitively say when it might go before the cameras, but the one thing
different between other iterations and ours is that Neil Gaiman has been in the
room with us and is a vital part of the team,
” Goyer said. “We have a draft Warners is very happy with
and we’re moving forward, knock on wood.
Another DC/Vertigo Project Goyer has been linked to is an
adaptation of Federal Bureau of Physics
with Justin Marks.  Simon Oliver and
Robbi Rodriguez launched the title in July of 2013 about Special Agent Adam
Hardy.  Hardy investigates breakdowns in
the laws of physics.  Justin Marks wrote
the script for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and has been rumored to be connected with
the script for the upcoming Suicide Squad film. (imdb)
Lastly, Goyer told
Deadline that while the back half of Season 1 of Constantine was not
picked up by NBC, he’s still hopeful.
It’s not dead, at all;
it’s solidly in contention for a second season of NBC, which is still
supporting it.
”  He claimed that while the situation was
frustrating; “If I were a
betting man, I would say there’s an excellent chance for a second season.
