BATMAN VS. ROBIN Box Art and Details Revealed

One of the things that most intrigued comic fans going into
the New 52 relaunch at DC Comics was Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo on Batman. The pair kicked off the
blockbuster run with a twelve issue arc, The
Court of Owls.
The story arc introduced the Court of Owls, an organization
of the rich and powerful almost as old as Gotham itself dedicated to keeping
the city corrupt.  It gave Snyder and
Capullo’s younger Batman a villain that knew his city better than himself and
satisfied many readers.  Now we get to
relive the spirit of that story with the April 14th direct to home market
release: Batman vs Robin.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment released a look at the box art and
special features today.  They also
released a synopsis:
The shadows of Gotham City
are no place for a child but Damian Wayne is no ordinary child. Now bearing the
mantle of Robin, he blazes a headstrong and sometimes reckless trail alongside
his father, Batman. While investigating a crime scene, Robin encounters a mysterious
figure, Talon, who leads him on a life-altering course through the depths of
Gotham’s secret society, known as The Court of Owls. It’s a dangerous journey
that will force Batman and Robin to face their most dangerous adversary, each
other! Based on the #1 best-selling graphic novel, Batman: The Court of Owls,
this action-packed caper is one that fans won’t want to miss!
”
Jason O’ Mara and Stuart Allen reprise their title roles
from Son of Batman and are joined by
Law and Order alumni; Jeremy Sisto
as Talon.  Sean Maher also returns from Son of Batman as Nightwing.  Lastly, longtime Batman voice actor Kevin
Conroy joins the cast. However, he’ll be playing Thomas Wayne.
The special features have two featurettes about the Court of
Owls:  Gotham’s City Secret: The
Mythic Court of Owls
promises to look at the history of the Court’s influence over Gotham, while
Talons of the Owl
will focus of assassin arm of the Court, the Talons.
Also included is a commentary and sneak preview at the upcoming Justice League: Gods and Monster
animated release.
The Court of Owls is
a personal favorite of mine and I look forward to seeing it in animated form
come April.
