Jesse Eisenberg And Scoot McNairy Discuss Their Roles In BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

Jesse Eisenberg is currently in London filming Now You See Me: The Second Act, but there is still plenty of hype surrounding his role as Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In an interview with Variety, the Oscar nominee is inevitably asked about playing the Man of Steel’s arch-nemesis. Of course, Eisenberg is mum on details, saying, “I can’t say anything about this stuff. They want all this to be a surprise.”

However, he goes on to say this about the possibility of reprising the role in a future movie. “I would love to. It’s a great group and director, and the most ideal character to play.” Eisenberg is/was in negotiations to play Luthor again in Suicide Squad, but his role in that film has yet to be confirmed. There’s also the possibility of Lex appearing in 2017’s Justice League Part One and/or 2019’s Justice League Part Two, as well as a standalone sequel to Man of Steel.

Eisenberg goes on to say that he was never really a Superman fan growing up, but he “never minded him.” As for whether or not he’s seen any Superman films, he admitted that he has, but only to “understand the context” of Dawn of Justice. For the rest of the interview, click the link above.

Another actor involved with Batman v Superman is Scoot McNairy, but his character in the movie is unknown. Speculation has ranged from Metallo and Dick Grayson to Will Magnus and Jimmy Olsen. He was even suggested for The Flash before Ezra Miller was cast in that role. While we wait for this mystery to be solved, McNairy commented on being a part of this film while speaking with USA Today. Of course, the actor can’t go into detail, but he shares his excitement in being in a comic book movie. “Playing in that world with comic books you’ve been reading since you were a kid, being someone in that world, it’s awesome.” He also calls director Zack Snyder “an incredible filmmaker and an incredible visionary.”

McNairy goes on to drop a few hints at the character he’s playing. “It’s definitely 100% a character I’ve never played and I can’t speak too freely on it, but yeah, getting into that thing was definitely something I had to wrap my head around emotionally in order to play that character. But with that being said, I had a lot of fun doing it when I was in the process of shooting on it — my head was in a different place but I’m really excited to see how it turns out and what they do with it and see the film.” Again, not particularly revealing, but this description gives us a slightly better idea of what to expect. Stay tuned for more as we have it.
