Character Descriptions for The Three New Characters in Untitled ARROW/THE FLASH Spin-Off

A couple weeks ago, it was announced that The CW was developing an untitled spin-off series featuring characters from Arrow and The Flash. So far, it stars Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, Victor Garber as Martin Stein/one-half of Firestorm, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold and, surprisingly, Caity Lotz, who played the now deceased Sara Lance on Arrow. It was also said the spin-off would introduce three new DC Comics characters who have never appeared in a (presumably live action) television series before. And now, we have some hints regarding which characters they are.

TV Line has received descriptions for the three new characters. While the names are not provided, the site offers some theories on who they could be. First up is “The Traveler,” who is described as “Han Solo-esque rogue who gets by with his charm.” This character “hails from the future, and has journeyed back in time on a secret mission. His razor-sharp wit hides the pain of a man who has lived through serious conflict. He also harbors many secrets, always leaving both his teammates and the audience unsure of his true allegiances.” TV Line speculates that this could be Rip Hunter or the appropriately named supervillain Time Traveler. Fan-favorite Booster Gold is another option, but he has already appeared on television before on Smallville.

The second character is “Female Warrior,” who is a “twentysomething Latina [who] is pretty but unassuming, book smart and socially awkward by day. But by night, when she hears the cry of battle, her fury is ignited and she becomes a fierce warrior — so much so, that sometimes she can become a threat to others.” Possible options for this character are Pantha, Tarantula and perhaps a combination of Fury and Yolanda Montez. The latter was the goddaughter of Ted Grant in the comics, and she later adopted the persona of Wildcat.

Finally, we have “Mystery Hero.” The character is an “African-American male in his twenties will fill the role of a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.” TV Line suggests that this could be Static Shock, who was recently announced to be headlining a digital live action series for Warner Bros. Other possibilities are Black Lightening and Black Vulcan.

So, there you have it. Those are the descriptions for the three new characters about to enter the Arrow/Flash universe, as well as theories on who they could be. Hopefully, these roles will be cast in the near future.
