Dominic Cooper Joins AMC’s PREACHER As Titular Character

AMC’s Preacher pilot, from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, is coming together quite nicely now, with cast members being announced for the last few weeks. But we’ve yet to find out exactly who would play Jesse Custer in the series. But Seth Rogen has now confirmed on Twitter that Captain America: The First Avenger and Need For Speed star Dominic Cooper has officially been cast as our titular character, though we’ve actually known for the last little while that he was being looked at for the role.

Dominic Cooper will be joined by Joseph Gilgun as the vampire Cassidy, Ruth Negga as Tulip O’Hare, Ian Colletti as Arseface, and Lucy Griffiths as Emily Woodrow, a character created for the series. The Preacher pilot is set to shoot this year, and is currently looking to air sometime in 2016.
