Jesse Eisenberg Says It Was “Terrifying” To Go Bald For BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Role

We recently received the first official image of Jesse Eisenberg in character as the Man of Steel’s archenemy Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which revealed that he did indeed shave his head for the role. While he was on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Eisenberg discussed shaving his head for the first time since the photo was released. “I’ve never been able to touch my scalp,” he said. “Yes, it’s freezing. It’s really strange. You know, it’s the kind of thing where you feel like ‘I can really damage myself.’ You wanna wear a helmet. It’s terrifying, it’s terrifying.”

Eisenberg had to keep his shaved head a secret from the press so that the studio could surprise us when they released the first image, which meant he had to walk around set with his head shielded. The host then showed an image of Eisenberg on set with a head covering. “You’d think there would be something more threatening than the floral arrangement [on my head]. Everything is like shrouded in secrecy and the people are shrouded in bandannas. So, Superman, Henry Cavill, he’ll walk onto set in like baggy sweatpants.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Gal Gadot, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Holly Hunter, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne, from a script written by Chris Terrio. The film will be directed by Zack Snyder, and it is currently scheduled to hit theaters March 25th, 2016.
