Lucy Griffiths Joins PREACHER Pilot

While Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are gearing up to shoot
their pilot for Preacher The HollywoodReporter has more casting news for the upcoming series.  The search for the title character continues
but the cast surrounding him continues to grow with True Blood‘s Lucy Griffiths.

Best known for her time in the fifth and sixth seasons of True Blood as the vampire “Nora
Gainesborough,” Griffiths is a veteran television actress.  She started in British television with her
first role was on the BBC series, Sea of
Souls.  Then she played
“Marion” on BBC’s Robin Hood.  She moved on to film with The Numbers Station, starring John
Cusack and Malin Ackerman.  Since True Blood she was in the films Don’t Look Back and Winter’s Tale in 2014.  Preacher
will not be her first stint on DC-TV either; Griffiths played
“Liv” in the Constantine

Her character, “Emily Woodrow” is described in the
article as a “single mother of
three. Emily’s a waitress, the church organist, bookkeeper and Jesse’s loyal
right hand. Stoic and strong, wise beyond her years, she can’t help but have a
little thing for Preacher Jesse.” 
The character does not seem to have appeared in the Ennis/Dillon comic
but she may yet have a correlating character or could be revealed as a
character from the comic by another name.
