EDGE OF TOMORROW Actor Franz Drameh Cast in THE FLASH/ARROW Spin-Off Series
While the untitled Arrow/The Flash spin-off series will unite several supporting characters from both shows, it will also introduce new characters Hawkgirl and Rip Hunter. Now, the CW series has cast its third mystery hero. Edge of Tomorrow actor Franz Drameh has joined the cast of the spin-off, it has been announced. His character is currently being called Jay Jackson, “a former high school athlete who was injured in a debilitating accident. Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment Announce Launch of “DC Super Hero Girls” for Fall 2015
Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have announced that they are partnering with Mattel to launch “DC Super Hero Girls,” a new line of merchandising targeted specifically at young girls. These products will include action figures, digital content, television specials, LEGO sets and many more. The digital content will launch this fall, followed by action figures and more in 2016. “DC Super Hero Girls” adapts iconic female characters such as Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl and Katana into “relatable” teenagers to young female fans. THE FLASH S1E22 Description – Arrow, Firestorm and More Guest Star
A promo for The Flash that was released a few weeks ago teased the Scarlet Speedster’s teaming up with Oliver Queen/The Arrow and Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm to take on the Reverse-Flash. It wasn’t clear which episode this would take place – many assumed it was the season finale – but now, we have an official answer. Common Joins The Cast of SUICIDE SQUAD in Unknown Role
Filming on Suicide Squad is now underway, but the highly anticipated DC Comics adaptation is still adding actors to its impressive ensemble cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest addition is none other than Oscar winner Common. The rapper-turned-actor’s character in Suicide Squad is currently unknown. However, he was once attached to play Green Lantern John Stewart in the canned Justice League: Mortal, a role he recently expressed interest in returning to. DEADWOOD Alum Joins Cast of PREACHER
The cast of Preacher continues to grow. Following on the announcement that Dominic Cooper has been given the title role, Deadline is reporting that W Earl Brown will join the show as potential villain “Hugo Root.” Brown broke into acting playing a paramedic in the Ron Howard film, Backdraft. He worked a lot both in television and film during the nineties appearing in projects as diverse as Wes Craven’s New Nightmare and Seinfeld. In 2004 he started a long run on the HBO series, Deadwood. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Henry Cavill was at CinemaCon this week to promote his next movie, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and in an interview with MTV (transcription via CBM), he was inevitably asked about his return as the Man of Steel. Last night, an extended version of the epic Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer screened in select IMAX theaters. As a thank-you to fans who attended, director Zack Snyder shared yet another image from the highly anticipated film on Twitter. THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE Release Date Set; THE LEGO MOVIE SEQUEL Moves Up One Week
Following the success of The LEGO Movie last year, Warner Bros. put several spin-offs and a direct sequel into development. And now, the studio has announced official release dates for all but one of them. First up, we have The LEGO Batman Movie, which is set to hit theaters February 10th, 2017. Will Arnett reprises his role as the Caped Crusader, with Chris McKay directing and Seth Grahame-Smith writing. The Ninjago spin-off, which was originally slated for a 2016 release, will now debut on September 22nd, 2017. Basketball player and mega Batman fan DeAndre Jordan recently visited the Batman Exhibit at the Warner Bros. VIP Studio Tour, and in addition to the various costumes and Batmobiles from past Batman films, his tour also featured the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Video of this tour, thanks to Bleacher Report, offered our best looks yet at the new costumes for Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Warner Bros.’ New IMAX Deal Includes BATMAN V SUPERMAN, SUICIDE SQUAD and Other DC Films
Warner Bros. has announced a renewed deal to release its movies on IMAX screens, with up to 30 films from the studio through 2020 being available on the platform. And of course, these movies include at least some of the DC adaptations that will be released over the next five years. We already knew that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was set to screen in IMAX; in fact, an extended trailer will be shown in select IMAX theaters tonight.
