Premiere Date and Synopsis for GOTHAM Season Two Released

Fox has unveiled its fall 2015 schedule today, and included is the official premiere date for season two of Gotham, the hit Batman prequel series.

Gotham will return on Monday, September 21st at 8 PM, the same timeslot it had for its first season. This season, however, Gotham won’t be the only DC show in this timeslot; CBS has slated Supergirl, which will premiere in November, in the same timeframe. How will this affect the two shows’ ratings? Time will tell.

Fox has also released an official plot synopsis for Gotham season two. It teases young Bruce Wayne’s next steps towards becoming the future Batman, while Mr. Freeze will be introduced. The summary also reaffirms that the Joker’s origin story will be a focus this season.

The stakes are higher than ever as GOTHAM explores the origin stories of some of the most ambitious and depraved Super Villains, including The Riddler, The Joker and Mr. Freeze, and Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) uncovers more secrets from his father’s past, in the Season Two debut on Monday, Sept. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).
