ARROW Producers Tease Season Four; Green Lantern Appearance “Unlikely”

The Hollywood Reporter recently spoke with the cast and crew of Arrow, regarding what to expect from the show’s fourth season. First up, executive producer Marc Guggenheim would not confirm or deny if the Birds of Prey would be forming. The show has already introduced members such as Black Canary, Huntress and Katana, making this a fair possibility. However, Guggenheim did confirm that there is interest in bringing the Huntress back, citing a “great” story for the character. “We just have to find the right time for it, and it would be a shame if we couldn’t get her back this year.”

Talk then turned to Coast City’s presence on Arrow. Star Stephen Amell confirmed that Oliver will be reuniting with an “old friend” in the city, he wouldn’t say who. Perhaps it’s McKenna Hall, Ollie’s ex-girlfriend who was paralyzed by Huntress (leading to her move to Coast City)? THR goes on to speculate that, given the frequent references to Ferris Airlines throughout the show, maybe CEO Carol Ferris herself could appear.

Naturally, these references to Ferris Airlines and Coast City have led to speculation that Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern, could make an appearance on Arrow. Throw those Easter eggs along with Oliver learning how to pilot a plane from…somebody, and Hal making his presence felt would seem like a given. However, Guggenheim has now confirmed that a Green Lantern appearance is “unlikely,” given the character’s big screen future. “They announced the Green Lantern Corps movie, and I’d be surprised if it didn’t include Hal Jordan. It would be great but I doubt it very much.”

The rest of THR’s article speculates on other elements that will be present on Arrow this season. Namely, the site hypothesizes about H.I.V.E.’s role in the season (and possibly The Flash?), Diggle transforming into The Guardian, Thea turning to the dark side Red Hood-style and more.
