Chris Pine Finalizes Deal to Play Steve Trevor in WONDER WOMAN

After being fancast for various DC roles for years, Chris Pine entered negotiations to play Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman movie a few months back. However, recent rumors suggested that that report was actually a smokescreen for Pine really playing Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, a role that many fans have wanted him to play.

Then, it was rumored that he was going to choose between Green Lantern and Steve Trevor. While we don’t definitely know if that one was true, Pine has officially landed a DC movie role – and he’s not gonna put a ring on it.

The Wrap confirms that Chris Pine has closed his deal to play Steve Trevor. As expected, he signed a multi-picture contract to potentially reprise the role in sequels and other films set in the DC Extended Universe. And, yes, Trevor will be in on “plenty” of action in Wonder Woman, so he won’t just be “Wonder Woman’s boyfriend.”

Wonder Woman will be directed by Patty Jenkins from a script by Jason Fuchs. Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are producing. Filming is expected to begin this fall for a June 23rd, 2017 theatrical release. Stay tuned for more as we have it.
