Former GOTHAM Star Jada Pinkett Smith Wants to Play Vixen in a SUICIDE SQUAD Sequel

Jada Pinkett Smith recently played Fish Mooney in season one of Gotham. The polarizing villain was seemingly killed off in the season finale, with Smith confirming that she would not return for season two…yet. Regardless, the actress is now interested in playing another DC Universe character.

Speaking with MTV (transcription via ComicBook.com), Smith has expressed interest in playing Vixen, possibly in a sequel to Suicide Squad. “There’s a character that I love in the DC World, her name is Vixen. Probably haven’t heard much of her. She’s kind of in that Suicide Squad world as well. I love Vixen. If there was any character, I would love to play her.”

While frequently depicted as a member of the Justice League in the comics, Vixen also has connections to the Suicide Squad. In fact, before David Ayer was hired to direct and rewrite the Suicide Squad film, the first draft had Vixen as a member. The character will go on to star in her own animated series for The CW Seed, set in the world created by Arrow. Could this, as well as any potential live action appearances, hinder her chances of debuting on the big screen?

Also, there is no clue if a Suicide Squad sequel will happen; in fact, the first movie hasn’t even finished production yet. Still, if the film is a hit, then expect to see more of the Squad in future DC installments. And who knows, maybe Vixen can join Task Force X next time.
