GOTHAM Brings in Michael Chiklis for Major Role

Production for Gotham
season two is well under way, allowing fans a glimpse into what they can expect
from year two of Jim Gordon’s war on crime.
For the most part, the best glimpses come from casting news and we have
a doozy with Michael Chiklis joining the cast.
After attending Boston University, Chiklis moved to New York
City and established a theater career.
However his career in television and film has been defined by two types
of roles: Cops and Tough Guys.  His first
television role was on Miami Vice
playing (Cop) Det. Jeffrey Whitehead.  He
had a run on the series Wiseguy as
mobster (and Tough Guy)”Carlo Spoletta.”  In 1991 he took the title role of Small Town Police Commissioner “Tony
Scali” in the series The Commish.  Most people will know him from one of two
roles: (Tough Guy) Ben Grimm in the Fantastic
Four
films or (Cop) Vic Mackey in the critically acclaimed FX series, The Shield.  (imdb)
On Gotham,
Chiklis will be playing Gotham Police
Captain, Nathaniel Barnes.  Barnes arrives
on the scene “lands on the GCPD like
a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of Gotham’s police force. He is a law and
order zealot; unafraid of making enemies – on either side of the law. For
Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Barnes is a hero and a mentor, someone with whom he
can share the burden of heroism. Captain Barnes proves himself to be a strong
ally to Gordon… but one day he will make an equally powerful enemy.
Gotham returns
for season two on September 21th, 2015.
