Jena Malone and Callan Mulvey’s Characters in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Revealed?

While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is deep into post-production, there are still plenty of things that are not known. For example, Warner Bros. has never officially confirmed who exactly Callan Mulvey and Jena Malone are playing in the film. The former has been speculated to be a villain (Doomsday? KGBeast? Metallo?), while the latter has been rumored to play Carrie Kelly. However, Malone has also been suggested for roles such as Barbara Gordon and Ellen Yindel. Well now, it looks like we may finally have some answers.

According to Heroic Hollywood, the rumor is that Callan Mulvey is indeed playing Anatoli Knyazev, aka KGBeast. Apparently, KGBeast is a henchman of Lex Luthor’s in Batman v Superman, keeping tabs on metahumans. The movie version is apparently very different from the comics. It was rumored last year that KGBeast was in Dawn of Justice, and fans speculated that that could be who Mulvey is playing. Looks like they were right.

Meanwhile, Latino-Review has apparently confirmed which character Jena Malone is playing in Batman v Superman, and it is Barbara Gordon. Of course, Barbara is the most popular character to don the Batgirl persona in the comics. Later, following her infamous paralysis by The Joker in Batman: The Killing Joke, she became a wheelchair-bound computer expert known as Oracle. It is unknown whether Malone’s Barbara will be Batgirl or Oracle at this point. However, given the fact that Batman has been active for twenty years, it’s possible that within that time span, Barbara was paralyzed.

Of course, both of these reports are just rumors at this point, however plausible they may seem. Thus, take them with a pinch of salt until we receive official confirmation.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters March 25th, 2016. The second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot. Zack Snyder directs from a script by Chris Terrio and David S Goyer.
