More New BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Details: Bruce Wayne’s Hair, Gal Gadot’s Audition, Nolan’s Response and More

Empire Magazine’s coverage of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been very extensive, to say the least. The magazine, out in stores now, has revealed new plot details, stills, BTS images, and even updates on future DC films. Now, Batman-News has published a compilation of things from the coverage that you may have missed, which should be very handy for those who are unable to pick up the magazine itself. These include the DCEU’s creative team, what Christopher Nolan thought of Zack Snyder rebooting Batman, minor plot details and more.

  • As previously revealed, director Zack Snyder has a whiteboard mapping out the entire DC Extended Universe. In overseeing this mega-franchise, he will be accompanied by producers Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven, as well as screenwriter Chris Terrio and DC Comics’ Geoff Johns.
  • Ben Affleck himself picked up his hairstyle for playing Bruce Wayne, making him look even more like the comic book version. Deborah Snyder was initially skeptical about it, but they decided to go through with it. Affleck wears a wig to create this hairstyle.
  • As previously rumored, Wayne is living on a lake house in Dawn of Justice, rather than the now abandoned Wayne Manor. This home is called the “Glasshouse.” Meanwhile, Clark Kent is now living in an apartment with Lois Lane, and scenes featuring Lex Luthor’s house were filmed inside of a Detroit museum.
  • Also, at some point, Batman carries a machine gun. Hmm.
  • Before Gal Gadot was cast, five actresses auditioned for the role of Wonder Woman opposite Affleck. Gadot’s was the one that “blew everyone in the room away.” Meanwhile, Deborah Snyder cried when Gadot first suited up as Wonder Woman on set. And the crew reaffirms that Diana’s role is “key” in leading into the formation of the Justice League.
  • During the early days of development for a Man of Steel sequel, Zack Snyder introduced the idea of putting Batman in the film. When he spoke to Christopher Nolan about it, The Dark Knight Trilogy director was “taken aback” by Snyder’s wish to reimagine Batman. Still, Nolan is now fully supportive of the decision, and he is an executive producer for Batman v Superman. And he even played a role in Affleck’s casting.

Many thanks to Batman-News for compiling this information. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
