DC Movie Bits: SUICIDE SQUAD Shooting Script, New Gal Gadot Interview, Armie Hammer Would’ve Been a “Terrible” Batman

There are only a few weeks of shooting left on Suicide Squad, and then it’s off to the post-production phase. Director David Ayer has been posting little teases on his Twitter account from the film’s set for the past few months, and yesterday, he offered another glimpse.

Ayer tweeted an image of the film’s shooting script, and it is in a case with the Arkham Asylum logo on it. The logo also reads, “City of Gotham Public Health Services.” So, not much, but it offers a closer look at the Arkham logo. Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5th, 2016.

Yahoo! Beauty (via Batman-News) recently spoke with Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot, and in a swift Q&A session, she inevitably talked a bit about her character and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Her favorite weapon is her sword, her favorite villain is Lex Luthor, and she says that deciding between Batman and Superman is like choosing between “Mommy or Daddy.” Also, she describes Wonder Woman with one word: “Powerful.”

Finally, we have another interview from Armie Hammer, who was very close to playing Batman in George Miller’s now defunct Justice League: Mortal. Before, the actor – who co-stars in the new release The Man From U.N.C.L.E. with Henry “Superman” Cavill – was very enthusiastic about nearly portraying the Dark Knight. But while speaking with Yahoo! recently, Hammer says that he was glad this didn’t happen.

Hammer says he would have been a “terrible” Batman, citing his youthful age when he was cast. “Really terrible. It’s too young. No-one wants to see a 19-year-old Batman. What can a 19-year-old do?” However, he admits that he was interested in the project because of Miller’s vision for bringing these iconic heroes together for the first time. “The thing I really loved about that project was the fact that George Miller was doing it. I thought that it was really cool to create – this was before Marvel had done it and before DC had done it – it was going to be really cool to see a world where all of these superheroes were on camera for the first time, and I thought that was great.”

Hopefully, there will be another DC or Marvel role in Hammer’s future. Do you think he would have been a good Batman?
