SUPERGIRL Casts Jenna Dewan-Tatum as Lois Lane’s Sister, Lucy

Recently, we heard that CBS’ Supergirl series was looking to cast an actress for the role of Lucy Lane, aka Lois Lane’s younger sister. Now, we know who exactly will be bringing this character to life on the small screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Step Up actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum – yes, Channing Tatum’s wife – will play Lucy Lane on Supergirl. She will make her debut in episode three of the series, and she will recur throughout the show. Lucy is described as “brash, funny and beautiful as her older sister Lois Lane. Lucy is strong, smart and successful in her own right. She’s got a history with Jimmy Olsen and she’s come to town to right a previous wrong.” She’s Jimmy Olsen’s ex, and Olsen is a love interest for Kara/Supergirl. So, bring on the love triangle?

Dewan-Tatum is the latest actress to play Lucy Lane on the small screen. Both Elizabeth Barondes Roxana Zal played her on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, while Smallville‘s version was portrayed by Peyton List, who is now playing Golden Glider on The Flash. In the comics, Lucy took on the identity of Superwoman, but whether or not that happens on Supergirl is yet to be seen.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it. Supergirl premieres on CBS on October 26th.
