The CW Casts its Hawkman for DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and Other Shows

Hawkman was announced to be a part of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow at Comic-Con last month, joining love interest Hawkgirl and many other heroes. Since then, we’ve heard that the character will debut on The CW’s two other DC shows, The Flash and Arrow, before joining the midseason series. And now, we know which actor will be bringing Carter Hall to life on the small screen.

The CW has announced today that Transcendence actor Falk Hentschel is set to play Hawkman, aka Carter Hall. He will first appear during the two-episode Flash/Arrow crossover arc this fall, before going on to Legends of Tomorrow. Hall is described as “the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate, Kendra Saunders. Like Kendra, Carter can access the powers of the Hawk God, Horus, transforming him into the winged warrior known as ‘Hawkman.'”

The Hawkman role marks Hentschel’s second comic book gig, as he previously appeared in an episode of Marvel and ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. However, Carter Hall is obviously a much more substantial role for the actor, especially since he will appearing in three DC shows. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

The Flash and Arrow will return to The CW this fall, while DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will premiere early next year.
