Jason Momoa Hints at Some Classic Colors for His AQUAMAN Suit

While Jason Momoa’s Aquaman look is great, a few fans were disappointed that it wasn’t closer to the classic orange-and-green suit from the comics. Momoa’s Aquaman is clearly inspired by Peter David’s iteration – who was also shirtless and had long hair – but a straight-up adaptation of the more iconic one would have been interesting. But now, Momoa has hinted that those familiar colors may be present in his costume.

Speaking with The Robot’s Voice, Momoa was asked if there will be any orange and green on his Aquaman uniform, and he suggests that there “might” be. “Well, there might be some bit of orange and green. A bit of respect to prior work, but I think he is meaner now and upset – look at what has been done to our oceans. That’s his world that has been polluted.” Momoa also confirms that he has been scanned for Aquaman collectibles and toys, while he can’t really say anything about his roles in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the two-part Justice League.

My guess is that the Aquaman image released by director Zack Snyder earlier this year is filtered, and it is not the clearest representation of what the final suit will be.

For example, the first-look image at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman had an obvious filter, but later pictures revealed that her costume will have the classic colors of red and blue. And let’s not forget the first look at Ben Affleck’s Batman, which was in black and white. Obviously, that was also just the filter, and not an indicator of the final product.

Jason Momoa makes his first appearance as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which hits theaters on March 25th, 2016.
