WONDER WOMAN Shooting Information Update

Wonder Woman is
shooting in the fall and with that time rapidly approaching information is
starting to come out about the shooting schedule.  It has already been reported that the film
will shoot primarily in London and that Bill Westenhofer has been tapped for the visual effects we can now add another location to the list.
Playing to the rumors that a portion of the film will take
place during World War I, the sitting of Basilicata, Italy will be used as a
location as well.

As you can see in the above picture, the city is quite
beautiful in a timeless fashion and could be used in multiple periods in
time.
It can also be beautifully shot by the film’s new Director
of Photography; Hoyte Van Hoytema.  A
report from Meet the Movie Press has linked Van Hoytema to Wonder Woman and if you’d like to see just how gorgeous a film can
be with him behind a camera you need look no further than Christopher Nolan’s 2014
film, Interstellar or the Spike
Jonze film, Her.  Most recently, he was the DP for the
upcoming James Bond film, Spectre.
Lastly, many times when a production is as high profile as Wonder Woman they will often time take
on a codename during production to keep people from being able to do things
like; taking spy pictures or disrupting production.  Unfortunately for the cast and crew it seems
that the codename has been found out.
Production Weekly reported that the film will go by the name, “Nightingale.”
It could be speculated that this hints that the villain of
the same name could play a role, Seiji Kato aka Nightingale was introduced in
the 1984’s Wonder Woman #317.  However it
is more likely that this is a reference to Florence Nightingale credited with
breakthroughs in modern nursing.
Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman will debut in March 25, 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice then
star in Wonder Woman premiering June
23rd, 2017.
