Rumor: Are These the Time Periods That Will Be Seen in WONDER WOMAN?

Over the past year, there have been conflicting reports over which time period the Wonder Woman movie will be set in. The first rumor said that the film will take place in the 1920s, with two sequels expected to explore the World War II era and then the present day. Later, it was rumored that both the World War I and modern time periods will feature in the same movie.

While we wait for an official answer, we have yet another rumor. Den of Geek claims that Wonder Woman will explore not one, not two, but three different time periods. And it’s possible that the film will move through an era for each act. What are they? You can find out below.

According to Den of Geek, Wonder Woman will begin with Diana on the island of Themiscyra, which she has called her home since the 1940s. Then, we head into 1916, right in the middle of the World War I era. And finally, Wonder Woman‘s third act will be set in the present day. During that section, the movie will tie into the events of Justice League Part One, which releases a few months after Wonder Woman in 2017.

Additionally, Den of Geek suggests that Diana will wear a different costume for each of the three time periods, reflecting the respective era. And her suit in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may be her most recent one.

Again, this is another rumor for the time being, so take it with a pinch of salt until official confirmation. With production beginning next month, stay tuned for more news as we have it.

Wonder Woman is scheduled to hit theaters June 23rd, 2017. The fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine. Patty Jenkins directs from a script by Jason Fuchs.
