NBC Officially Picks Up DC Comedy Pilot POWERLESS

While TNT has passed on the Titans pilot, this week has also offered some good news on the DC television front. It has been confirmed (via TV Line) that NBC has ordered the pilot Powerless, a single-camera workplace comedy set in the DC Universe.

Basically, the pilot and potential series will follow “the exceedingly average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power as they mop up after superheroes’ town-trashing clashes.” So, in other words, Powerless will focus on a group of ordinary people in a world with superheroes and god-like beings – all in the form of a comedy show. The exact DC Universe characters in this show are currently unknown, but don’t expect A-list heroes like Superman and Batman.

Ben Queen is writing and executive producing Powerless. Now that a pilot has been ordered, the next step is to cast the main characters and to shoot the episode. From there, NBC will decide whether to order it to series or to pass on it.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
