BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Earns $52.4M in Second Weekend; Nearing $700M Global Gross

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is now in its second weekend of release, and its estimated gross is in, via The Hollywood Reporter. Is the film continuing its successful streak at the box office, or are those negative reviews finally impacting it financially?

The DC superhero ensemble earned $52.4 million this weekend, a 68% drop from its $166 million opening weekend. Despite the drop, which is larger than usual for superhero movies, Batman v Superman had no problem maintaining the #1 spot for the weekend.

Domestically, Batman v Superman is currently at $261.5 million, about $30 million less than the last DC movie, Man of Steel (which grossed $291 million domestically). This movie should surpass that mark by the end of its third weekend. As for its worldwide gross, Batman v Superman has already surpassed Man of Steel, earning $681.3 million. It should surpass the $700 million mark within the next couple days.
