New Trailer and Plot Synopsis for BATMAN: RETURN OF THE CAPED CRUSADERS
Last week, it was announced a new animated movie based on the Batman 1966 television show will be released this fall. Titled Return of the Caped Crusaders, the film marks the return of Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar as Batman, Robin and Catwoman, respectively. And now, IGN has premiered a new trailer for the movie. The trailer contains plenty of action-packed footage, as the Dynamic Duo takes on Joker, Catwoman, Penguin and Riddler. FEATURE: Five Directors Who Should Be Considered for SHAZAM
Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s Shazam movie was confirmed a couple of years ago. Dwayne Johnson is attached to play villain/anti-hero Black Adam, with Darren Lemke writing the script. Since then, we’ve gotten occasional updates on the film, including confirmation that it will be set in the DC Extended Universe. (In case anyone had any doubt.) Suicide Squad is now in its third weekend of release. Despite negative reviews from critics, the DC film has been doing well at the box office. The other day, it crossed $500 million worldwide. This weekend, it has to hold on to its #1 crown from several new releases, such as War Dogs and Ben-Hur. How did Suicide Squad do? Barry Allen is facing a slew of new enemies on The Flash next season. Dr. Alchemy and Savitar are the two big bads, while Mirror Master is on the way. ARROW Casts Wil Traval as the Human Target
DC Comics’ Christopher Chance, aka Human Target, previously headlined two television shows, both titled Human Target. The 1990s show starred Rick Springfield as the character, while the 2010 series starred Mark Valley. Now, a third version of Chance is coming to TV, this time on The CW’s Arrow. According to KSiteTV, Christopher Chance/Human Target is appearing on episode five of Arrow this season. This episode is titled, well, “Human Target.” The character will be played by Wil Traval, who you may recognize as the actor who played Will Simpson on Marvel/Netflix’s Jessica Jones. Warner Bros. Suicide Squad opened two weeks ago, and despite critics’ negative reviews and a 67% drop in its second weekend, the DC film has been doing well at the box office. Today, it has been confirmed (via Deadline) that the movie has surpassed a key milestone in its theatrical run. Today, Suicide Squad has crossed the $500 million mark worldwide. Currently, the film has grossed over $238 million domestically and $271 million overseas. This brings its worldwide total to $509 million after just 13 days of release. Funko previously tackled DC Television with products based on Arrow, The Flash, Gotham and iZombie. The latest show to get the Pop! treatment is DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Today, Funko’s Legion of Collectors has unveiled the (first?) wave of figures based on the series. Four characters will be given Pop! figures: The Atom, Hawkman, White Canary and Firestorm. Harley Quinn and Deadshot Revealed in Latest INJUSTICE 2 Trailer
NetherRealm Studios has released yet another trailer for Injustice 2, revealing two new playable characters in the game: Harley Quinn (voiced by Tara Strong) and Deadshot. The two villains are the stars of DC Films’ latest blockbuster, Suicide Squad, so their inclusion in this video game shouldn’t be surprising. Last year, Batman ’66 stars Adam West and Burt Ward revealed that they are reprising their roles for a new animated movie, based on the classic television series. Little info was revealed since, other than a planned 2016 release (just in time for the show’s 50th anniversary). Now, the movie has been officially announced.
