The CW Orders More Episodes for Season 2 of DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

Unlike its other DC Comics shows, The CW did not order a full 22 episodes for Legends of Tomorrow‘s second season. The show, which premiered during midseason last year, returned this fall with only a 13 episode order. However, in a sign of confidence, The CW has ordered more episode for this season – but it’s still less than the norm.

It has been announced (via THR) that The CW has ordered four more episodes for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow this season. This brings its total to 17 episodes, and this gives the season about an extra month on the network’s schedule.

Legends of Tomorrow will dive into the Legion of Doom’s formation later this season. Adding more episodes will only give the show more time to focus on the supervillain team, as well as their interactions with the Legends. Then there’s the question on Rip Hunter’s disappearance; a longer season will give the season more time to address that too.
