Warner Bros. Shifts AQUAMAN Release to Fall 2018

Warner Bros. originally slated DC Films’ Aquaman for release on July 27th, 2018. The James Wan-directed movie will star Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe. However, the studio has now moved the film to a later date.

It has been announced (via The Hollywood Reporter) that Aquaman will now hit theaters on October 5th, 2018 in 3D and IMAX. No reason for the delay was given, and there’s no indication of production being pushed back. The film is expected to begin shooting early next year.

WB previously claimed this date with an untitled DC film, which was widely expected to be The Batman or a Suicide Squad sequel. Also, the studio originally set The Flash for March of that year, but with that movie’s director dropping out, a delay in production and likely release is happening.

Currently, Aquaman has the date to itself. It also opens up the summer to another DC film potentially taking over. Could Warner Bros. move up The Batman to June or July? Or could The Flash be ready for that summer after all? We’ll have to wait and see.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
