Marc Guggenheim Teases More Arrowverse Crossovers This Season; Black Flash Confirmed for LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

Following last fall’s historic four-show crossover event, The CW will continue to have smaller crossovers with its DC shows in the second half of the year. Supergirl and The Flash will have a musical crossover episode in the spring, while several characters, such as Malcolm Merlyn and Laurel Lance, are series regulars across all of the shows.

Now, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow producer Marc Guggenheim teases even more crossovers. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly on the “Superhero Insider” SiriusXM radio show, Guggenheim discusses what’s coming up this season. He says that next week’s Arrow will feature the “fastest” Flash crossover ever, while other Arrowverse characters are being lined up to appear in the last two episodes of Legends. “We, just yesterday, made an offer to an actor to reprise their role from one of the other shows in the season finale of Legends. Oh, and in the penultimate episode we’re gonna have – I can’t be specific about this, but it’s one of the most fun things I think we’ve ever done on the show – a character from one of the other shows on Legends in a way that you’ve never seen before, you may never see again, but will, I think, just send fans into squeals of joy.”

Talk then turned to Legends‘ move to Tuesday nights at 9 PM, one hour after Flash. When asked if the move was influenced by any synergistic storytelling, Guggenheim offers a couple of tidbits. As expected, Black Flash is appearing on Legends, while Martin Stein’s daughter, Lily (who was introduced in the “Invasion!” crossover), will pop up next week. Oh, and Reverse-Flash is a member of the Legion of Doom. Thus, “…there’s a fair amount of Flash-ness going on in Legends. I wish I could say that we were so smart to take advantage of the new timeslot and do that, but we weren’t that smart. We just had already sort of been doing that organically anyway when we found out about the new timeslot.”
