IRON FIST Shaking Up Showrunners for Season 2

The first season of Iron Fist was underwhelming and not up-to-par with Netflix’s other three Marvel dramas for a good majority of fans and critics. However, Netflix renewed the show starring Game of Thrones’ Finn Jones for a second season yesterday. And with the new season comes a new showrunner.

Entertainment Weekly has learned Scott Buck (Dexter) has stepped down as the show’s main writer. Filling that hole will be Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow, Falling Skies).

At San Diego Comic Con yesterday, Marvel exec Jeph Loeb teased the team-up between Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) and Misty Knight (Simone Missick) in the new season.

Meanwhile, Loeb said the following about Metzner. “Raven’s love of all things Iron Fist and his extensive knowledge of martial arts films made him the perfect choice to continue telling the adventures of Danny Rand and Colleen Wing.”

We’ll first see Jones reprise his role as Danny Rand again in August on The Defenders, which premieres on Netflix on the 18th. He’ll be starring alongside Charlie Cox‘s Daredevil, Krysten Ritter‘s Jessica Jones, and Mike Colter‘s Luke Cage in the superhero team-up miniseries.

The premiere date for the second season of Iron Fist is currently unknown, but we’ll be sure to let you know once it’s announced.
